Kia Ora and welcome to Rūma 2 Kaitaki/Warrior Scholars.

Coping with change is an underlying thread for our tamariki and our whanau this year, so our kaiako and kaiarahi are working hard to keep consistency and routine at the forefront of learning programmes.

Of course, alongside this, we continue to grow the kaupapa of Turua and all that it stands for. Our Kaiako this year are Whaea Jacky ( Kaiako) and Whaea Estelle (Te Awhina Whakaako).

The Turua School Weekly Newsletters are now sent in an e-format. Don’t forget to check regularly each week to find out about what’s happening in the school community.
If you have any concerns about your child’s well-being or progress, please feel free to email us anytime or have a word before or after school. At times we may need to make an appointment to discuss matters further – jacky@turua.school.nz

Kaitaki is connected to an app called Seesaw. This is like our very own class on Facebook and is accessible only to the Parents, Family and Students of Kaitaki. Seesaw is a platform for student engagement. Students are empowered to create, reflect, share, and collaborate. Students can “show what they know” using photos, videos, drawings, text, PDFs, and links. It’s simple to get students to work in one place and share with families, and nothing is shared without teacher approval. Seesaw also has a message facility that allows us to message parents individually.

Students can log into their Google Classroom or Hapara and engage in other suitable websites there or use the links below.

Our library day is Monday. All library books need to be returned to the library once read so that your child can get new books out.

Encourage your child to memorise his or her mihi so they feel confident sharing aloud within our syndicate. If your child must stay home due to anything covid related we have the following online learning platforms which help guide your child through their day to day learning. Students log in to Google Classroom or Hapara Student Workspace where they receive their instructions as well as interesting lessons to engage in. These are the same lessons given in class as well as at home so as to keep the continuity going. Students working from home require their exercise books to work in just like students who are at school.
