Welcome to
Turua School
Turua School is situated between Ngatea and Thames in a semi rural environment. We are a Decile 5 school with a supportive community, and parents who have high expectations for their children’s education. Our teachers believe that all students can experience success and strive to reach their potential. They develop positive and affirming relationships with students and have a strong focus on student wellbeing and sense of belonging.
The children at Turua School are encouraged to achieve high academic standards with Numeracy and Literacy being a daily focus. A wide variety of opportunities are offered across all curriculum areas from the Arts, with extension classes provided and productions through to Physical Education and Sports, including Outdoor Education and attending a range of sporting events.
Students are encouraged to explore leadership opportunities and given a voice in school-wide protocols and decision-making. Innovative and effective teaching practices are encouraged with the provision of quality professional development opportunities for staff being a high priority of the Board.

COVID update
Sun Mar 27 03:35pmThank you once again for your support on Friday with 3 out of our 5 teachers away due to COVID and isolation requirements. This coming week we will still have many staff away and are asking those students in Mangopare and Kaitaki that can, to stay at home and participate in online learning. This has already been set up on your seesaw/google classroom page and can be accessed by all students in the senior rooms. If you are able to keep your child at home please send us a message via email or seesaw. to minimise the need for phone calls in the morning. We will provide supervision for those students who cannot be supervised at home. We will review our situation on Wednesday afternoon to see if we can make any changes.
We currently have 5 student and 2 teacher active COVID cases at Turua school. They are in Kaitaki, Mangopare and Patiki. Please continue to monitor your child’s health for any symptoms and continue to inform us of any positive results.
Thank you.
